- What is Asana? Asana means pose or posture. What makes any physical posture a yogic posture? Many of the postures we perform in yoga are also performed in areas of motion that have no spiritual touch, such as dance or acrobatics. For a posture to be considered an asana, it must be performed differently than any other physical activity. It must be balanced, relaxed and performed out of quiet consciousness, with a connection to breath and deep awareness. An asana does not insist that your yoga pose be perfect. Quite the contrary—it insists that your approach to the practice is what counts (Sutra 2.46).

1. What makes the Drishti Beats 200-hour different from other online YTTs?
The Drishti Beats 200-hour is built around cinematic, story-driven content and real teaching practice. You won’t just watch videos and take quizzes — you’ll actually teach, record yourself, receive detailed mentor feedback, and steadily build your confidence. The training blends Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Yoga Nidra, music, and modern pedagogical tools to make the learning journey engaging, creative, and deeply embodied.
2. Who is the 200-hour online training best suited for?
This program is designed for dedicated yoga students who want to become confident teachers, as well as practitioners who want a deeper understanding of yoga beyond drop-in classes. It’s ideal if you value creativity, music, thoughtful sequencing, and a supportive, mentor-led environment.
3. Do I need prior teaching experience to join the 200-hour?
No teaching experience is required. The 200-hour is your foundational training and assumes you are starting as a student. We guide you step-by-step through cueing, sequencing, alignment, class planning, voice, and holding space so you feel ready to teach by graduation.
4. How is the 200-hour curriculum structured?
The 200-hour training is divided into 12 chapters. Each chapter includes a full-length masterclass, skill development lectures, a practical breakdown of poses and assists, self-reflection or homework, a teaching assignment where you record yourself, and personalized feedback from your mentor. Each chapter builds on the previous one so you grow in a clear, logical sequence.
5. How much time per week should I plan for the 200-hour?
Most students dedicate 5–10 hours per week. At that pace, you can complete the training in roughly 3–6 months. If you have more time available, you can move faster; if life is busy, you can slow down — there is no deadline.
6. How do the teaching video assignments work?
In each chapter, you’ll be asked to teach a portion of the sequence you’ve just learned. You’ll record yourself teaching to the “Invisible Student” behind the camera — there’s no need to have a physical student with you. You then upload the video through the platform for your mentor to review.
7. I’m nervous about filming myself. Will that hold me back?
It’s completely normal to feel nervous at first. Many of our students feel this way in the beginning. The teaching videos are there to support your growth, not to judge you. Your mentor will meet you with kindness and clarity, helping you improve step-by-step so your confidence grows with every submission.
8. What kind of feedback will I receive from my mentor?
Your mentor will watch your teaching videos and give you specific, actionable feedback on your cueing, pacing, alignment instructions, presence, and sequencing. You’ll receive both encouragement and constructive guidance so you know exactly what you’re doing well and what to refine next.
9. Is the 200-hour training suitable if I don’t plan to teach?
Yes. Many students enroll primarily to deepen their own practice and understanding of yoga. You’ll still complete the teaching components, but you can hold them as personal growth experiences rather than professional training if that feels more aligned.
10. Can I use this 200-hour to continue into the 300-hour or 500-hour path later?
Yes. This 200-hour training can be the first step in your 500-hour journey. You can later enroll in our 300-hour advanced training to complete your RYT 500 pathway and deepen your expertise as a teacher.
