Welcome to the Drishti Beats Bali Retreat Lounge
Episode 5: See You Soon
Your retreat is just days away, and your journey has already begun. In this final video, Asaf shares a few last reflections before takeoff and invites you to arrive with more than just your suitcase.
This isnât about what to do. Itâs about how to feel.
Whether youâre traveling solo, with a partner, or as part of your yoga teacher training, know this:
Youâre not just expected. Youâre welcomed đş

Episode 4: eVisa, Apps & Money

If youâve recently caught yourself Googling âBali smoothie bowlsâ at work, donât worry! Youâre not procrastinating, youâre spiritually preparing.
Todayâs countdown update is less about smoothie bowls, and more about the essential stuff that will make your Bali arrival smooth and easy.
eVisa time (if you haven’t already)
Yes, most travellers will need a Visa on Arrival, which costs IDR 500,000 (~$30 USD) and is valid for 30 days. You can get it in person when you arrive at Denpasar airport, or, and trust me on this, skip the line and apply online in advance here: Official Indonesian e-Visa site >>
â ď¸ Important: Only use the official Indonesian government site above. Many third-party sites pose as government portals and charge inflated fees.
Customs Declaration (new rule!)
All passengers bound for Indonesia must complete a Customs Declaration before entering here: Complete it here >>
â ď¸ Important: You can only complete this form within 3 days before your arrival in Bali. At the end, youâll receive a QR code. Make sure to screenshot it, as youâll need to show it to the customs officer before leaving the airport.
(Note: Re-watch Episode 2 in the Bali Lounge if you need help with any of these forms)
Apps to Download Before You Go
WhatsApp â this is how weâll all stay connected on the ground
Grab â like Uber in Bali (rides + food delivery)
Gojek â like Grab, but often cheaper đ
Wise (optional) â for fair exchange rates if you’re planing to make big purchases
Money Tip
Avoid exchanging money at the airport. The rates there are the lowest there at around IDR (Indonesian Rupiah) 14,000. You should be getting around IDR 16,350 per $1 USD (as of today 22 Sep). Or, if you prefer, you can  withdraw cash directly from ATMs once you arrive but again, the rate won’t be ideal.
â ď¸ Be watchful where you exchange cash. Many places in Bali pretend to be âauthorised.â If the rate looks too good to be true and the exchange booth looks more like a car wash than a bank, trust your instincts and walk away. Stick to ATMs or reputable exchanges.
SIM Card
At the airport, look for Telkomsel. They have the best coverage on the island and theyâll set you up super fast for around IDR 230kâ250k. You wonât get a local number (Indonesia doesnât allow foreigners to have one), but youâll have plenty of data to WhatsApp, FaceTime, and post your âjust landedâ coconut selfies.
What to Expect on the Ride to the Resort
Your first drive in Bali is part a spiritual journey and part National Geographic. Expect to see:
Monkeys hanging out on temple walls like neighbourhood watch, entire families balancing on one scooter (yes, including grandma and the dog), roadside offerings with flowers and incense, turning every corner into a mini-shrine, lush green rice paddies that make you want to roll down the window and breathe deeper. By the time you arrive, youâll already feel like Bali has opened its arms to you.
Your mini Drishti Beats homework:
Try this now: Say âTerima kasihâ (pronounced te-ree-ma ka-seeh).
Congrats! Youâve just spoken more Indonesian than 90% of tourists on the island đ¸
Episode 3: What to Pack.. and What to Leave Behind
Thereâs a way to pack that doesnât begin with panic. A way to prepare that feels less like a checklist and more like creating space.
In this third video, Iâll walk you through what to bring, what to leave behind, and what softens when we stop preparing for every âjust in case.â
From yoga clothes and sarongs to the art of traveling light, this is your gentle packing guide. For your suitcase, and for your state of mind.

Episode 2: From Airport to Arrival
Thereâs a way to travel that doesnât feel rushed. A way to arrive that feels more like a soft exhale than a sprint through customs.
In this second video, Iâll guide you through everything you need to know from the moment you touch down at Denpasar Airport to the first sip of herbal tea at the resort.
Iâll cover visa tips, arrival forms, airport pickups, and how to transition from travel mode into something more like presence. Because in Bali, your arrival is more than expected, itâs honored.

Do I need a visa for Bali?
Yes, most travellers will need a Visa on Arrival, which costs IDR 500,000 (~$30 USD) and is valid for 30 days. You can get it in person when you arrive at Denpasar airport, or skip the line when you land, and apply online in advance to save time.
Here is the official site to apply for an Indonesian e-Visa:

Important: There is no need to use an online agent or third-party service to apply for your visa. Many unofficial websites pose as government portals and charge unnecessary or inflated fees. Please only use the official Indonesian government site linked above.
