Self-Reflection/Study
Complete the self-study objectives.
- Read Injuries and Special Conditions in Group Classes.
- Start to prepare your one-hour vinyasa flow class. 25% should be taught off the mat. Be sure to mirror the class when teaching on the mat. For your final exam you may have one person as a student present with you for when you are off the mat to teach to and provide assists. It is not mandatory to have a student and if you do, ensure that this person has some experience in yoga. Provide at least 5 assists. Please be sure that we can see this person in your video if you have someone with you. Pick an intention of your choice for which to thread through your class. It could be a Yama or Niyama, a Chakra, or Dharma. Savasana should be 3-5 minutes in length. Teach the class in the order of the sequences that you have learned in this training. Do not skip a sequence. You must use at least 2 sanskrit terms per sequence and do more than one pose in each sequence to create flow. You must make one sound of Om.
- Review the Cueing Safety segment in your Student eBook.
- Be sure to complete the assignment by watching the “this is water” video – link is in the e-book and send us your analysis of the video. Also, be sure that you complete the assignments within the video in this session called “Ethics”. Both of the these assignments must be completed and received first before we open up session 12 for you.
- Please be sure that your final one hour video follows the sequences in their exact order: Engage, Heat, Extend, Equilibrium, Earth, Fire, Deep Center, Expand, Lengthening, Enlightening, and Surrender. Choose the poses within each sequence and create you one hour flow.
- Once you feel ready to video your final class and take your final written exam please Contact Us and we will open session 12 for you.
